Background & Introduction

Hygeia Nigeria Limited Foundation (Hygeia Foundation) is a non-governmental not for profit organisation which helps to improve the skills and abilities of healthcare professionals in Nigeria thus empowering them to excel at their jobs.

Hygeia Foundation also works to increase HIV and AIDS awareness as well as accessibility to care and to treat. Currently the Foundation receives funding from the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) under the Global Fund to provide comprehensive HIV services within the private sector.

While still a growing organisation, Hygeia Foundation is uniquely positioned because of its relationships with Hygeia Nigeria Limited, the Lagoon Hospitals and the Hygeia HMO. So we have the backing of the most experienced healthcare providers in Nigeria. Working together is a major advantage which has continued to allow the Foundation to have the widest reach and impact in providing comprehensive HIV care and treatment services for the private sector in Nigeria. Because of this, to this end Hygeia Foundation has set the standard in responding to the HIV and AIDS in Nigeria. In the areas of care and treatment services, Hygeia Foundation has set the standard in the private sector response to HIV and AIDS  program in Nigeria.
