How it works

The Foundation utilises funds from various sources to educate medical professionals in Nigeria and provide a stronger healthcare base in the country. This is achieved through various programmes and activities. These activities are geared towards scaling up comprehensive HIV and AIDS treatment and care for people living with HIV and AIDS in all States of Nigeria.

Hygeia Foundation has the mandate to build the capacity of private sector providers, and ensure quality service provision through mentoring. This mentoring covers clinical and laboratories as well as other programme support areas such as logistics management, monitoring and evaluation and documentation.
